Downtown Permits

Since its inception, the Downtown Development Authority has, by City ordinance, the authority to regulate the use of the City’s right of way in the areas of Main Street between First and Seventh Street, Colorado Avenue and 7th Street. The purpose of this ordinance shall be to control the type and manner of activities conducted in the Downtown Shopping Park and enhance the environment in the Downtown Shopping Park to provide the maximum possible usage, subject to appropriate restrictions.

General Permits
News Racks
The DDA allows periodicals to be placed in the news racks on Main Street for distribution. The fee is $20 a month with an initial setup fee of $100.Street Vendors
The DDA issues permits for the use of sidewalks for pedestrian vendors and mobile vendors. The fee for a mobile vending cart or kiosk is $100 for six months. The fee for a pedestrian vendor is $25/month or $100/year. There are special regulations for mobile vendors using the streets.Downtown Merchant Permits
Outdoor Dining
The DDA issues permits for the use of City sidewalks by downtown restaurants for outdoor dining. You must provide proof of current sales tax licenses, food handler permit and liability insurance. The fee is $1 per square foot of your dining area per year.Block Parties
The DDA issues permits for the use of a one-block area for a downtown merchant block party. Insurance is provided by the City. DDA personnel will assist with road closures. There is a $100 refundable deposit.Tent/Sidewalk Sales
The DDA issues permits to existing Downtown merchants to sell merchandise or provide services from an area in the public right of way. The fee is $25 for three days.NO GENERATORS ARE ALLOWED ON MAIN STREET
